hail to the chief!

chief brody is coming home on friday, after almost 9 weeks of waiting. we think we're all ready for him, but i'm sure that optimism can quickly turn to abject terror at having a two-month old canine in a house with two felines.

i promise this blog won't become a dog blog (although you'll want to check for periodic updates, of course), but for now, i can only seem to focus on my big (~25 lbs) little bundle of joy. for those of you wondering how we came up with the name chief brody, i have to give full credit to dj husband for that. he's a huge fan of JAWS, and has always wanted to name a dog after the reluctant hero of the movie - the distinguished and brave chief martin brody of amity.

anyway, wish us luck. we're thinking of easing the puppy's transition to his new home with a plush toy with which to snuggle in his crate. you think he'll be scared?
